Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research of Punjab Dr. Balbir Singh today sent off the modern mobile dental clinic van prepared by the Punjab government at a cost of 67 lakh rupees from the Government Dental College of Patiala. On this occasion, he was welcomed by the Principal of the Dental College Doctor JS Maan did.
The Health Minister said that providing better health services to the people is the first priority of the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, due to which government medical college hospitals, district and sub divisional hospitals including dispensaries, 842 Aam Aadmi clinics and About 3000 health wellness centers are functioning.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that this state-of-the-art van has two fixed dental chairs and one mobile dental chair, AC, autoclave, generator, power backup, etc. for complete examination of the patient’s teeth, which is helpful for emergency dental treatment. will be Through this van, awareness about dental diseases will also be spread, including dental camps by community dentists, this van will prove beneficial for the students and the society, including for the training and further study of the students of the dental college.

Dr. Balbir Singh said that this van will also be useful for studying dental students, as it will also check the teeth of school students and dental diseases of common people in villages-cities, settlements. The Health Minister further informed that the recruitment of about 50 faculty in dental medical colleges will also be completed soon.
He said that the services of dentists will also be taken in Aam Aadmi clinics, because there is a great lack of awareness about dental diseases among the people and dentists will play an important role in preventing the increasing incidence of dental and oral cancer.
On this occasion, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Avnish Kumar, Joint Director Dr. Puneet Girdhar and Dr. Akash, Colonel JV Singh, Principal of Dental College Dr. JS Mann, Dr. Harmesh Sharma, Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur and medical students were also present.
