There have been some fresh reports of police action and lathi charge by some protesting rioters in Patiala to free the hostages of power department employees. Requesting anonymity, some eyewitnesses said that the police had received complaints from the families of the hostage-taking electricity workers that their families were hungry and thirsty and had been imprisoned by some protesters at the headquarters of the electricity department. Acting on this complaint, when the police personnel reached the protest site and explained to the protestors that it is a legal offense to imprison someone in this way and asked them to release the hostages, but some political miscreants present with the protestors started raising slogans of Murdabad. In the meantime, the DSP of Patiala city Mr. Sanjeev Singla arrived there, seeing whom some of the mischievous elements present there started making a ruckus and started abusing the DSP. An eyewitness said that suddenly a hooligan came near the service revolver of the police personnel while hurling foul abuse at DCP Sanjeev Singla and seeing his violent intent, the DSP tried to remove him but he clashed with the police. After which, even if I didn’t want to, there came the turn of baton charge. Although DCP Sanjeev Singla is a very decent police officer and till date no such provocative activity has been carried out by him, but by the time the situation had become so serious that before any untoward incident took place, the police cautiously charged with lathis and freed the hostage employees of the power department from the hands of the rioters. After this, some mischievous people misused AI technology and started posting some photos and videos on social sites, and people who were not aware of the situation due to the sheepish behavior of social sites, started blaming the police on the contrary due to incomplete information and only one aspect of the scene of the incident was shown. An investigation committee was formed by the International Human Rights Organization for Police Public Press to investigate this incident. The investigation committee has also confirmed all these developments and has appealed to the general public not to get involved in any provocation. He has also appealed to the Punjab government to immediately give appointment letters to other Sharif youths who are protesting.
