Shiv Sena Hindustan has been struggling since 2003 to secure justice for the 35,000 Hindus in Punjab who were victims of terrorism. When Shiv Sena Hindustan campaigned for justice for these victims in 2003–04, the then Punjab government approved a package of ₹781 crore. However, instead of disbursing this package, the Congress government led by the then Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh betrayed the Hindu community by seeking the funds from the Congress-led central government. In contrast, the Congress government in Punjab—led by Captain Amarinder Singh (who is now a BJP leader)—had promptly paid compensation from the state exchequer to the terrorists captured during Operation Blue Star who were held in Jodhpur Jail.
Subsequently, neither the Akali-BJP government that followed nor the current central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided justice to these 35,000 terror-affected Hindus in Punjab.
The tenure of the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab is also nearing its end.
The Hindu community had high hopes that this government would understand the pain and suffering of these 35,000 victims; however, this government, too, has failed to heal the wounds of the Hindu community. The Punjab government remains silent regarding the demand for a package—which Shiv Sena Hindustan insists should be at least ₹5,100 crore—and the acceptance of an 11-point charter of demands concerning Punjab’s minority Hindu community.
To press for these demands, Shiv Sena Hindustan is organizing ‘Trishul Marches’ across Punjab. As part of this initiative, a massive Trishul March was held today, July 24, 2026, in Patiala. Organized by the Patiala district unit of Shiv Sena Hindustan with the support and cooperation of various Hindu organizations, the march commenced from the famous Shiv Mandir at Qila Chowk and was led by Shiv Sena Hindustan National President Shri Pawan Gupta. A notable aspect of this *Trishul* March was that, after a long interval, members of the Hindu community—including mothers, sisters, and young men—gathered at the starting point well ahead of the scheduled time. Prominent social worker Dr. Paramjit Singh (representing the Sangh) and Balwinder Singh Shivay (a leader of a renowned Hindu organization) personally attended the event. Religious leadership for the march was provided by the community of *Sadhus* and *Sants*, led by Mahant Ramdatt Giri Ji Maharaj and Mahamandaleshwar Shri Brahmanand Giri Ji Maharaj of the ‘Shri Hindu Takht Bharat’. Many prominent *Sadhus*, *Sants*, and *Mahamandaleshwars*—including Shri Hira Giri Ji Maharaj (Kakrali, Patiala), Sarpanch Giri Shri Mahant (Devigarh, Patiala), Shri Balwinder Giri Ji Mahant (Baroti), Shri Krishna Giri Ji Mahant (Rajpura), Shri Sudama Giri Maharaj (Jakhwali), and Shri Hanuman Giri (Bodhni Wala)—participated in the march to extend their support and blessings to the movement led by Shri Pawan Gupta (National President, Shiv Sena Hindustan) and to stand with Hindus affected by terrorism.
The *Trishul* March commenced at 10:30 AM from the Shri Shiv Mandir at Qila Chowk. It proceeded through various markets—including Adalat Bazar, Jodiyan Bhatia, Arna Barna Chowk, Triveni Chowk, Arya Samaj Chowk, Lahori Gate, Lahal Chowk, and Gurudwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib—before reaching the Shri Hanuman Mandir on Pasi Road. There, the vehicles, scooters, and motorcycles halted, and the participants—hundreds of Hindus carrying saffron flags and *trishuls*—continued on foot under the leadership of Shri Pawan Gupta to the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office in Patiala. Upon reaching the office premises, the participants presented a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of Punjab; in the absence of the DC, the SDM of Patiala received the document on his behalf. While providing detailed information about the memorandum, Shri Pawan Gupta, Supremo of Shiv Sena Hindustan, stated that compensation amounting to ₹5,100 crore must now be paid to the 35,000 Hindus who were victims of terrorism, and that the government should accept the 11-point demands of Punjab’s minority Hindu community. Responding to questions from journalists on this occasion, the SDM of Patiala said he would forward the memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner so it could be submitted to the Chief Minister for consideration. After submitting the memorandum, Mr. Pawan Gupta, National President of Shiv Sena Hindustan, addressed the leaders and workers of various Hindu organizations participating in the Trishul March. He stated that Shiv Sena Hindustan, with the support of the Hindu community of Punjab, will continue this struggle until justice is provided to the 35,000 Hindus affected by terrorism in Punjab and the 11-point demands of the minority Hindu community in Punjab are met. On July 31, 2026, Shiv Sainiks and leaders and workers from across Punjab will gather in Mohali and surround the residence of the Punjab Chief Minister in Chandigarh as part of the Trishul March. He warned that if the government fails to actively support justice for the Hindus affected by terrorism in Punjab, Shiv Sena Hindustan will launch a major movement against the central government. A movement to surround Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah may be planned in the future. He thanked the leaders and workers of Shiv Sena Hindustan and the leaders and workers of various Hindu organizations for their active support in making this Trishul March a success.
